You're a lot better at naming them than I am. Took me forever to figure out a name for my one OJ and it's still not much good. Hard to get the right balance of all-style nonsense to match the canon ones without being total gibberish. Breaker Charlie looks better than he sounds, though. I promise you.
I had a dream that my fiancee and I were defending T.O from a category 5 Kaiju. Pretty awesome considering she dropped a little Gandalf into the battle. "You shall not PASS!". So, yeah. That happened. Damn fine Jaeger there.
Really love this ART! very good concept. Colours, stance. Very fitting. Well done!
In the 2nd World War, Canadians established a reputation as being sharpshooters. To this day Canada has aimed to keep that reputation. The second I saw this pic, I realized it payed homage to Canada's history. There is a saying (I don't remember which general said it) "If you want to take a hill, send the Americans. If you want to keep the hill, send the Canadians."
I don't condone the killing of human beings. That's disgusting. But, the idea here is sound for giant monsters. Obviously this Jaeger is purpose built to rely on distance, as part of its arsenal.
Love this rather badass custom design of a badly-needed Canadian jaeger. The drop-able railgun is a pretty clever idea. Also harkens the idea of 'dropping the gloves', a visual all Canadians know means faces will be punched
From the same site: "Oh Canada, our roaming naked band..." misheard at age 5
And the US national anthem isn't safe from misheard lyrics either... "Jose, can you see?" misheard at age 7 "By the Donserly heights..." also misheard at age 7 "O, the red parts we washed" misheard, unspecified age "As the twilight's blasphemy" misheard at age 45 (how did it persist that long?)
Huh...nice weapon on the right arm there. Can't see what it's supposed to fire...the "I" shape to the bore suggests a particle beam weapon, but PBW's don't work well (atmospheric scattering)...railgun, maybe? I mean Kaiju armor is pretty thick, but it does have a sight, so I'm guessing it's set up to deliver precise shots at the soft spots.
Yup it's a long range rail gun (just a huge version of the railgun from metal gear) designed to be ejected (and recovered like a drop tank) if close range combat is necessary, stay tuned coming up with a upgraded Sierra Vigilant 2.0 very soon.
I do know of the firing system and pilot integration, we developed it on Dragon Ascendant. Except it was meant to be for carried weapons...so the Jaeger could carry secondary ordinance like a human carrying a rifle, and the conn-pod systems could interface with the weapons for targeting, systems management, and firing. That was supposed to accelerate adaptivity and allow tactical options by allowing one Jaeger to swap off weapons to another in joint engagements. That design looks like...and I could be wrong, but it looks like towards the back it has a grip.
It looks like the firing system is sound, and a retrofit would be easy...the specs for Jaeger-held armament interface hardware and software patches should be in the PPDC database. Although we only got as far as partial construction on the GAU-320 before the last war ended. We're having students finish it up as a pet project, though...large scale cyberengineering.
If the Anteverse picks another fight with Earth...they'll have more than one Jaeger off the line. Seems like a lot of countries are putting pieces back together...in case they have more than one Breach facility.
Dragon Ascendant's ready to rock and roll with you if the need arises.
We'll take their lemons, make them combustible, and BURN THEIR HOUSE DOWN!
(Look, don't ask, it's an in-joke with the onboard OS...)
